L-A-B receives DoD ELAP full and final approval

May / 09

After much preparation L-A-B proudly announces that on May 12th, 2009 we received the following correspondence from Ed Hartzog of the DoD regarding the status of L-A-B as an accreditation body for the DoD ELAP program:

The assessor training conducted by L-A-B on 7 & 8 May 2009 meets the requirements of the DoD Environmental Data Quality Workgroup (EDQW) for assessors performing assessments in support of the DoD Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (DoD ELAP).  L-A-B may offer the training as needed to train additional assessors.  L-A-B may begin performing accreditations of laboratories in support of the DoD ELAP.

As the above communication states, DoD's successful attendance of our training May 7th & 8th completes L-A-B's final step to becoming fully approved to perform DoD ELAP Assessments.

We are presently scheduling our first round of assessment to begin June 2009, with the deadlines set in place for October 1, 2009 we are encouraging all applicant labs to accept thier cost estimates to begin the process of scheduling their assessment immediately because priority will be given on a first come first serve basis.

Applicant laboratories that have been furnished cost estimates are encouraged to execute them quickly to begin the scheduling process by contacting Laboratory Accreditation Bureau, 260-637-2705.  Those laboratories who have not yet applied may start by requesting a cost estimate through the ‘get a quote’ feature of www.L-A-B.com.
